While most books focus on specific theoretical approaches, specific disorders, or both, this is one of the few that highlights core therapeutic skills. I am still completing reading this great book, but have been finding it most helpful and informative. Not only does the author talk about needed competencies, but offers guidance on ways to get the training or information one needs. It is an easily readable book with good examples.
