Product Description
A balanced presentation that encompasses both formalism and structure in analytical dynamics, this graduate-level text discusses basics of Newtonian and analytical mechanics, rigid body dynamics, behavior of dynamical systems, geometric theory, analytical solutions, transformation theory, problems in celestial mechanics and spacecraft dynamics, and more. 128 figures. 1970 edition.
Reader ReviewsThis is not a bad book on classical mechanics. But whole sections of it are taken from other textbooks ( such as Goldstein), sometimes pictures and all. There are some unique applications however, and the sections on stability are good but nothing special. Nevertheless, this is another attempt to show an author's mastery of classical mechanics and that everything follows from Newton's three laws. Too bad a truly unique attempt way not made. Way too much of this book can be found just by reading Goldstein. The exposition here adds nothing.
