Product Description
The Dynamic Horse describes the principles underlying the science of biomechanics, then illustrates how these principles apply to horsemanship and equine locomotion using examples that will be familiar to anyone accustomed to working around horses. Through knowledge of biomechanics, the reader will develop a better understanding of how horses move and perform. The Dynamic Horse addresses key concepts including tempo, rhythm, balance, characteristics of different gaits, speed and economy of movement, and jumping mechanics.
Reader ReviewsThis is a very poor book for avid horsemen. It is a physics text book on locamotion with very little usable information about how horses move. With a Master in Science I recognized the tets from undergrad physics courses. While I love Claytons work, like Sport Horse Conditioning, this was a disappointment especially paying $60. It is a text book for a course and should have been labeled as such. Not enough in it about horses to learn how to train different to minimize impact on horses. Don't buy it.
