From School Library Journal
Grade 3-5-- Two books of hands-on experiments that utilize the attractive, full-color "Eyewitness" format. The activities themselves are simple, easy to follow, and require no unusual materials. Warning symbols appear next to procedures that require adult supervision. In Weather, directions for a sunshine recorder cautions that "the sun's rays are scorching hot--so be careful." This is not enough warning for a potentially dangerous procedure. Neither book has a sense of cohesiveness to its presentation; rather, both seem to be groupings of random concepts without scope or sequence to give them meaning. For example, the projects in Numbers skip from digital dials to an abacus to snowflakes. The lack of an index and glossary also severely limit the usefulness of both titles.

Reader ReviewsExcellent resource for homeschooling parents or anyone wanting to teach the elementary principles of mathematics for primary school age students. I have already created a digital dial in less than 2 hours. My son is 5 and loves the activities. This book is a must for teaching mathematics and a fun and cooperative way. It helps parents get involved in the education of their children. This book makes math come alive for children with projects that illustrate key mathematical concepts in action. Tuesday Devin
