Book Description
Florida can be divided into seven distinct regions, each corresponding to specific geographic and cultural criteria. Marshy Everglades, and tropical Keys occupy the south, while the vacation capital of Miami rises along the east coast. From the extravagant Gilded Age of manses and fantastic beaches of the Gold and Treasure Coasts to the amusement parks of Orlando, and St. Augustine's Spanish-Colonial era architecture in the Northeast, Florida is a region of stark contrasts. Reader Reviews
This review is from: Florida (Eyewitness Travel Guides) (Turtleback)
This is an excellent guide for those interested in exploring beyond the confines of Central Florida and the theme parks. From Perdido Key on the edge of the Panhandle to Key West and Dry Tortugas, you get a good overview of what Florida has to offer. With photos on almost every page and concise information, you'll be ready to hit the road and give yourself a complete Florida vacation. The book does have a section on the WDW and the other theme parks, and if that's your main interest, it would be better to get one of the many dedicated guides that cover the manufactured fun.
